Abstract: 

Deloitte will present a complete approach for conducting a Teamcenter specific PLM diagnostic and deriving a PLM roadmap. A capability maturity model aligned with the Teamcenter modules is utilized to gauge the maturity of an organization’s PLM processes. Tools such as churn analysis, value-stream mapping, resource usage, improvement metrics, etc., are utilized to measure inefficiencies. A prioritized and sequenced deployment roadmap is then developed to improve PLM capability in performance-critical areas via implementation within Teamcenter. The Teamcenter Value Map is utilized to develop the business case and visually represent how specific Teamcenter modules align with the improvement actions and can lead to improved shareholder value.

Navigating PLM: Implementing an Integrated Process (15 min)

Lessons learned implementing Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution and transforming how an Enterprise creates, collaborates, approves and consumes Product Content. How we are transforming from a tribal knowledge based, disconnected, and document centric product content solution into an integrated, single source of truth. Primary focus will be sharing how we established a simple visual to connect Business to Solution Requirements, facilitate User Acceptance and Systems Validation Testing, and drive User Adoption.

Transforming to a Digital Enterprise (20 min)

As companies move from exploring digital to being digital, they are profoundly changing the nature of their business – the customers they serve and how they serve them, the products they offer, the processes to develop them and the services to support them, and the very way that they define and measure success. PLM solutions play a critical role in such transformations by providing the platform for digital enablement of the end-to-end product value chain. However, in order for companies to realize the enhanced value of PLM, they need to transform their traditional PLM roadmap with capabilities that drive true digital transformation across the product lifecycle.

This presentation will focus on how “smart” digital product models can significantly improve the velocity, cost and quality of product development, sourcing, manufacturing and customer service. In addition, we will discuss the role of PLM and the digital product models in the connected products eco-system in order to enhance customer experience.

Smart Connected Missiles and Rockets (10 min)

Orbital ATK will discuss development of intelligent digital twin and IOT technologies which integrate PLM systems and data with industry leading software in its products. Orbital ATK is developing smart fielded assets that predictively determine service life and battlefield readiness based on conditional awareness. Missiles and rockets used for defense purposes may transported around the globe or they may remain in storage years without being ever being deployed.  These assets must be ready for deployment at a moment’s notice with complete confidence and reliability.   Digital twin and IOT technologies promise to change the way mission readiness is monitored, assessed, and verified.  Smart connected assets will provide situational awareness for the warfighter.  The speaker will discuss goals, implementation challenges and resulting business benefits of developing products with conditional awareness.
