OPS Solutions, LLC provides innovative augmented reality solutions to complex real-life operational problems. Our third generation patented projector-based software, Light Guide Systems™ (LGS), uses high-powered projector and vision systems to guide and confirm completion of complicated tasks. Light Guide Systems Classic helps reduces errors and radically improve manufacturing and assembly processes by projecting a digital operating “canvas” directly onto virtually any work surface and providing audio and visual prompts, guidance, pacing and direction. Light Guide Systems Pro takes the tool to the next level by incorporating its proprietary software into the powerful yet compact Sprout Pro by HP PC platform to deliver a clean and compact package that is portable, flexible and affordable. From assembly to quality control to training, Light Guide System’s technology provides the visualization, traceability and flexibility demanded by leading companies worldwide. Key industries include aerospace, agriculture, automotive, energy, heavy equipment and medical.

Abstract:

Companies in every industry are searching for new and innovative technologies to maximize their quality, productivity, and training. Projection-based augmented reality delivers a solution documented to increase quality by up to 80% and productivity by 40% for certain manual applications.

Light Guide Systems is a Detroit-based augmented reality technology company that is transforming the way cars—and products ranging from powertrains and pacemakers to pizzas—are manufactured.

Light Guide Systems uses projected lights to error-proof and streamline manufacturing and assembly processes in virtually any industry. The technology works with operators to make factor floors smarter, safer and more productive in any number of industries from automotive and energy to medical. When interfaced with an MES such as Simatic IT, digital manufacturing becomes reality.

By projecting a digital operating “canvas” directly onto virtually any work surface and providing audio and visual prompts, guidance, pacing and direction, LGS drives manual processes with speed and precision. That means each product is built perfectly. Every time.

Light Guide Systems is now working with tech giant HP Inc. to launch a small scale version of the technology using the Sprout Pro by HP's flexible and widely-accessible platform—called Light Guide Systems Pro.

Light Guide Systems Pro is a portable and affordable version of the larger augmented reality technology. It makes complex manual processes simple, and can be used to assemble anything from a common pen to a circuit board or diesel fuel injector.

Our system works with an operator to pair the best of human intelligence with the precision of technology. It is protecting jobs and providing the tools and resources to keep manufacturing alive in the U.S.

Companies in 13 countries around the world now benefit from our No-Faults Forward approach, along with the control that comes from real time data and standardized sequencing as part of an integrated digital manufacturing network.
