Primary Presenter Biography: Ann Alexander is responsible for successfully managing a broad and meaningful partnership with these Independent Software Vendors, as a liaison with Microsoft Corporation. Her main focus is to expand Microsoft’s leadership position in the discrete and process manufacturing industries by developing long range strategies and business planning with these ISV’s, influencing a broader and deeper set of solutions on the Microsoft platform and technologies, as well as creating solution offerings that are compelling to the needs of the customers in manufacturing. She is also tasked with driving joint sales engagement with these partners, on a country by country basis as well as extensive joint marketing. The vertical markets she works in with her partners are multiple including Discrete manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Power and Utilities, Chemicals/Life Sciences, Mining/Metals/Minerals, Consumer Goods, Automotive, and Paper/Pulp.

Ann joined Microsoft Corporation in 1998 as an Education Territory Manager for Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New Jersey. In 2002, she moved into a Global Strategic Major Education Accounts Manager position. She transferred into a U.S. role on the manufacturing side of Microsoft’s business in December of 2004, and then was promoted to the Worldwide Manufacturing Team in January of 2006.

Alexander has 26 years of experience in various parts of the software industry. She held several roles over a seven year period at an ISV, ABT, Inc. where she initiated the partnership with Microsoft. Prior to that, she held a variety of technical positions in the petroleum, high tech and defense industries in the areas of geological and geophysical exploration, land management, high tech business development, and multimedia development tools for Naval defense systems.

Alexander holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management Center, The Claremont Graduate University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from The Colorado College. She has assisted a number of community organizations over the years as a Board Member on the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Red Cross, a supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, and as the Chair managing the Foundation Board for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Co-Presenter Biorgraphy: With over 23 years of technology and software sales experience in automotive and manufacturing markets, Kirk has spent most of his career helping companies apply technology across their business to improve efficiency, increase business insight, and reduce costs. He joined Microsoft in 2005 and is part of the Automotive, Industrial Equipment & Aerospace Industry team.

In his role, Kirk has responsibility for helping customers become more efficient across their business processes leveraging joint Microsoft and partner solutions.
