Abstract:  For a variety of reasons, many organizations find themselves with design and manufacturing teams at multiple locations around the world. Sometimes, the teams use different CAD and ERP technologies. Despite the complexity of the current systems, many organizations are investigating options to create the capability to do the following across multiple locations:
• Collaborate on design
• Support project work everywhere
• Reuse parts and assemblies for local products
• Manufacture parts
Organizations are finding that the above requires teams (at all locations) to follow common design processes, work in a common data model, and interact with integrated PLM/ERP systems. With careful planning, Mercury PLM has made it possible to structure data in one location and then re-use the design in another location while keeping multiple independent ERP systems synchronized throughout the data's lifecycle. In this presentation, Mercury PLM Services will share insight on how this has been achieved.
