Abstract:  The design of a structure is often influenced by many factors including cost, performance, schedule and packaging. In the case of the design of a hexapod isolator for a launch environment, packaging and performance were key factors. Learn how designers and analysts worked together to find an optimized design that fits in the available space. The hexapod shape is changed in NX and the shape and stiffness is optimized via NX NASTRAN Solution 200, and detailed analyses are easily updated via a parametric model in NX CAE.
