Abstract:  In 2013, the Design Engineering team in GE Aviation set out to embark on the MBE journey by adopting a new process for type design that improves understanding of design intent, facilitates manufacturing and improves quality. This process consists of creating a fully defined NX model that utilizes 3D PMI annotations to specify dimensions and tolerances in the model rather than on a separate drawing. This NX model and additional attribute data from Teamcenter are then combined and published into a lightweight 3D PDF representation with the Anark Core MBE platform, in order for easy downstream consumption. This presentation will focus on the authoring, and release processes and how 3D PDF publishing of these 3D models was integrated into Teamcenter, lessons learned along the way, and future plans for additional MBE use cases.
