I attended the NYS Rug meeting and thought it was a successful turnout. The total attendance was 90 with four Parallel tracks, a number of presentations by both users and Siemens, and capped off by The John Baker Show at the end of the day. In addition to the user presentations, 2 partners also presented as well. It appeared that everyone got a great deal from the day. There was a lot of networking and open discussion going on in all of the sessions.
A number of compliments were received from the NYSUG planning committee regarding working with PLMW and SPLM. The committee felt the registration process was good and offered new ideas on how to handle future registrations. The planning committee also mentioned that the event probably would not have went off without help from Siemens PLM and John Heidhorn who helped provide some funding support.
One area of improvement the NYSUG would like to see is making available a library of presentations that the users could get some access to. This is something that needs to be investigated for future RUGs and annual conferences.
