Another Pioneer Passes
Steve Jobs passing was well publicized thanks to the highly successful Apple products that he envisoned and brought to market for millions of us.
What many may not realize is that another pioneer has silently passed this week and without his simple invention, Steve Jobs' iconic legacy may never have been realized.
Dennis Ritchie, the father of the C Programming Language and co-author of the book of the same name has passed away almost unnoticed had it not been for a few posts on Facebook and an article in the New York Times.
Ritchie's invention led to the development of Unix and the World Wide Web today. Google, Facebook, Oracle and of course - Teamcenter Engineering along without countless other computing applications have all been developed using C.
Without Ritchie's invention, the ITK toolkit used to enhance the customizations for many Teamcenter applications may not have been possible or as popular to use.
