Description:

In this session, we will learn about the Milling Process used in Manufacturing, so that we can achieve maximum benefits during High Speed Machining. The first part of the session will be spent on how an endmill removes material during the Milling Process. This will go deep into the details of how the metal is removed by the cutting edge of the tool and how that process is affected by a rotating cutting edge. In the second part of the session, we will discuss the factors of the Milling process. Specifically we will look at the mechanical components of the process(i.e. Tooling and Machine) and the parameters of those components(i.e. Cutting Parameters and Machine Dynamics). In the third part of the session, we will discuss High Speed Machining toolpaths generated by iMachining for NX CAM. We will discuss how to adjust our High Speed Machining toolpaths to maximize the performance of the Milling Process for varying situations.
