Description:

This presentation will describe how Hendrick Motorsports uses the new Tube Milling with NX CAM to machine complex surfaces in engine component castings and chassis components.  Compared to generic 5-axis capabilities, the Tube Milling method significantly streamlines NC programming, while providing precise control over the critical machining parameters.  Tube Milling in NX CAM saves programming time by requiring minimum input. For example, it only needs a center guide curve to calculate the optimum toolpath to machine a complete tube in a single operation. This new, advanced capability in NX CAM helped Hendrick Motorsports to speed up the NC programming by 25%.
