Robotics and Automation in Aerospace and Defense

Track: NX CAM and Tecnomatix User Connection

Session Number: 170305
Date: Tue, May 9th, 2017
Time: 8:45 AM - 9:30 AM
Room: 211

Description:

Aerospace manufacturers in commercial aviation are facing a significant backlog of aircraft orders. This increasing pressure on the OEM as well as the supply chain has resulted in need for new technology and innovation with subsequent investment in Robotics & Automation to support new programs as seen in the Aerostructure segment. The Aerostructure tooling equipment industry is well on this journey – reflected by increasing use of automated processes, flexible production systems or other learnings from industries like Automotive where there has been extensive use of automation for decades. In this session we will highlight our solution support and capability for Robotics & Automation where high performance simulation platform coupled with smart customizable Off Line Programming (OLP) automation are allowing adopters to realize significant engineering time reduction in key processes. This session will showcase specific use cases for e.g. support for automated and semi-automated systems and equipment for drilling, riveting as well as other applications.
