NX Reuse Feature/Template Strategies in Design

Track: NX Product Engineering User Connection

Session Number: 170244
Date: Thu, May 11th, 2017
Time: 11:15 AM - 12:00 PM
Room: 141

Description:

NX has the powerful Reuse Library function to classify and share NX models and design features consistently across an organization. Reuse drives usage of common design techniques and allows design rules to be incorporated in defining features. Reuse reduces parts (and feature) proliferation resulting in lower effort, cost and development time. This session will cover reusable features, sketches and product templates that are set up in a Teamcenter folder based NX9 reuse library. Tips to determine reuse library content – whether it should be a feature or a sketch or a product template – are discussed. No coding knowledge is needed to develop reusable part geometry. Product Template Studio is used in model development to provide the end user with a consistent look and feel along with help documentation. The reuse techniques discussed here can be applied to any design field.

Session Type: Demonstration/Tips/Tricks

Related Industry: All Industries
Learning Objectives: 1. Learn how to use NX reusable objects, UDF’s and Product Template Studio driven part templates to help design in context.
2. How to select and develop reuse objects.
3. Development techniques to try at home.
