Using Teamcenter Command Line Utilities

Track: Deployment Excellence Connection

Session Number: 170091
Date: Tue, May 9th, 2017
Time: 1:30 PM - 2:15 PM
Room: 202

Description:

Have you ever wanted to set up systems to monitor Teamcenter server performance, automatically deactivate the Teamcenter accounts of inactive users, or get information about Teamcenter data in order to display it in another system? Do you have scripting or programming experience, but you've struggled to figure out how to accomplish these goals without needing to learn how to program with Teamcenter ITK, or directly touch the Teamcenter database?

This presentation will focus on how to use a combination of out-of-the-box Teamcenter Command Line Utilities and standard Rich Client applications such as Query Builder, Workflow Designer, and PLM XML Import/Export Administration to accomplish the above mentioned tasks. Some scripting or programming knowledge would be required to control and execute the utilities, and process their individual outputs. While a roadmap for how to go about setting up these scripts will be discussed, due to the variety of languages that could be used for actual implementation, coding of scripts will not be shown.

Session Type: Interactive Lecture

Related Industry: All Industries
Learning Objectives: 1) Learn about the availability of out-of-the-box command line utilities that can extend Teamcenter functionality
2) Discuss a few sample tasks or business functions that could be accomplished by incorporating some of the utilities
3) Learn what preliminary 4-tier client configuration must be done to seed the utilities with their runtime arguments
Applicable Software: PLM XML
Pre-requisites: Workflow Designer experience, Query Builder experience, PLMXML Import/Export experience, some programming or scripting experience, but not language specific. Presentation would be geared specifically towards non-ITK programmers.
