When it comes to CAD VDIs (CAD Cloud), the decision to migrate to the cloud is relatively the easy part; Successful maintenance and realizing user productivity is where we are really tested.

As the CAD Cloud Program Manager at Applied Materials (An Enterprise and 1st Fortune 100 Company to have 100% CAD in Cloud on Global scale), over past 6 years and over 2 platform transitions had the opportunity and privilege of having firsthand experience of the variety of user productivity challenges - some of which threatened the continued existence of our private CAD Cloud.

This PLM World presentation is an example-driven 10-12 case studies illustrating non-obvious user productivity CAD VDI problems, with details on how they were eventually resolved, and what lessons can be learnt from this experience.

The purpose is to share knowledge and learn from participants, so that we all can improve the success of CAD VDI and CAD Cloud initiatives in respective environments.
