Description:

Communication of Teamcenter functionality proposed to be implemented can be challenging.  You have to be able to communicate the intended functionality to team members from development staff all the way to end users.  This presentation will cover the development of various forms of graphical “Data Models” to facilitate this communication.  Hierarchical Object Data Models, Process Data Models and Process Flow Models are all key tools that will be covered.  Hierarchical Object Data Models are UML type diagrams that show where customer specific Teamcenter objects fit into the out-of-the-box (OOTB) Teamcenter data model.  Process Data Models show a grouping of Teamcenter objects and their relationships that represent a “package of data” that supports a specific process.  Process Flow Models are flow charts that show the flow of a process and what Teamcenter objects are involved at various steps in the flow.

Learning Objectives: The audience will come away from this presentation with a foundational set of tools that will allow them to architect a Teamcenter solution and communicate that solution with a diverse range of team members.  Hierarchical Object Data Models will help with communication within the development staff.  Process Data Models can also be a good tool communicating with development, but it comes in very handy with potential end users of the functionality.  Process Flow Models help with the end user as well, but are good tools to communicate the new process with management.
