American Axle perspective on PPG

Lincoln Hughes, American Axle & Manufacturing
Learn how AAM is utilizing modular templates based on equipment and process objects in the Bill of Process to capture and assign deliverables and timing for a given program. This approach allows detailed tracking that varies based on scope of the project without large nested schedules.

IES- the Missing Link?

Paul Nelson, Orbital ATK
As Orbital ATK Propulsion Systems transitions away from cost plus contracts towards primarily firm fixed price contracts, revamping our orchestrated schedule management has become critical path.  For a given program, three primary schedules are in play:
1. Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) – Program office view
2. Integrated Engineering Schedule (IES) – Engineering view
3. Factory Schedules – operations/manufacturing view
Synchronizing program schedules, engineering schedules, and factory schedules is a complicated and challenging hurdle for one given program and even harder across many programs for a division within the company.  The IES has potential to provide a missing link between the IMS and the factory schedules.  Our scheduling pathfinding goals, efforts, and status shall be shared and discussed.
