Configuration Management Project at ASML

This results in increasingly powerful and capable electronics that enable the world to progress within a multitude of fields, including healthcare, technology, communications, energy, mobility, and entertainment.
At ASML the FMO CM program (Future Mode of Operations, Configuration Management) is focusing on our product configurations at design and operations. Configuration Management will help us to always know what is and what should be in our products, at every moment in the product-lifecycle.
The business objective is to implement CM@ASML. It uses standards (e.g. EIA 649-22 B) and best practice (e.g. CMII) to introduce a solution framework.
After a short ASML and CM@ASML introduction I will explain the FMO CM projects current being active and how these relate to our tooling needs.
The BOM/BOP project is defining a new Configuration Management method where System- and Development Engineering use a 150% BOM to support the product definition. Based on this structure the Manufacturing BOM and BOP are defined. The new structures are under change control using the the TC Change Manager process. This would be a global EC process for which ASML would like to consolidate it’s 4 sites into 1 central site. The Change Management (EC) process is defined by the Simple EC project introducing the closed loop change process and introduce the new roles like the Change specialists.
The Simple EC process will use the PR/CR/CN objects in the to be defined myChange application. The umbrella utility to support the new business process.
My presentation focusses mainly on the topics above. However our FMO CM program also includes the myConfig project, capturing the HW and SW dependencies in a configuration engine. And the Fix the TC foundation project focusing on usability, stability and performance of the TC application.
At ASML the part and design structure are combined following the well-known master model concept which also brings the challange on the configuration structure.
ASML is current on TC 10.1.7, NX 9.03 and AW 3.2.
Maarten Romers is working at ASML for over 20 years has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management and has been involved with Siemens software since 1986, Unigraphics 3.6.
At ASML he has always been working in the area of business improvement projects related to Teamcenter and NX.
