Product Summary

E³.series is Zuken’s Windows-based modular, scalable and intuitive system for the engineering, design, documentation, and manufacturing of wiring, harnesses, cable assemblies, control panels, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. E³.series’ core object-orientated architecture supports the entire engineering flow from concept to manufacturing and eliminates the need for data transfer between different modules. This reduces errors, increases quality and allows engineering changes to be completed much more effectively. E³.series can also be smoothly integrated with existing applications and processes through standard and customizable, bidirectional programmable interfaces. For more information about E³.series, visit our web site.

Round Table Sessions

Title: Why ECAD/MCAD Integration for Routing Design
Primary Presenter: Geoff Lydon [E3.series Solutions Manager - Zuken]
Date & Time: May 09, 2017 01:15 PM
Location: 110
Abstract:

This session will explore a product-centric approach to the complete design to manufacturing cycle using control system interconnection data to drive the creation of cable and harness manufacturing documentation.

A product-centric design process applied to mechatronics design will result in building better products faster and with lower risk. Product-centric design methodology requires cross-discipline collaboration that includes mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering and systems engineering. In the mechanical world it involves the development of 3D designs that include the physical representations of components belonging to these different disciplines, e.g., hydraulic valves, hydraulic cylinders, actuators, motors, control units, cables, harnesses, etc.

Learn how an ECAD control system design tool can provide the data necessary to accomplish the routing design task in MCAD and once routed, manufacturing documentation can be generated for the cables and harnesses.
