    Presentations
Title: PLM Application in Globalization of Medical Device Companies
Primary Presenter: Claudia Gonzalez [Deloitte Consulting, LLP]
Co-Presenter: Brian Meeker [Principal - Deloitte Consulting, LLP]
    Date & Time: Jun 03, 2013 02:30 PM
Abstract: The future could not be more predictable for the medical device industry: tremendous potential growth and dramatic worldwide markets expansion as populations’ age in countries across the globe and hundreds of millions of people in emerging markets are demanding modern, quality healthcare. There is an increased demand for consumer-centric solutions and innovation that goes beyond the product to include the support services and data analytics for a successful outcome, coupled with an increasingly strict regulatory environment which will remain a significant hindrance and will likely hamper innovation and encourage more companies to shift R&D and Operations functions overseas. Medical device companies will continue to be challenged over the next several years to penetrate emerging markets with lower cost products, improve their product development efficiency and shape their design anywhere, build anywhere capability like never before. This presentation will show how Deloitte has helped clients prepare for and overcome these challenges, assisting them in their product development improvement initiatives aimed at decreasing time to market, reducing R&D expense, improving innovation and execution.
Title: Driving Cultural Change and Adoption During Teamcenter Implementation
Primary Presenter: Asi Klein [Deloitte Consulting LLP]
    Date & Time: Jun 04, 2013 05:10 PM
Abstract: Several client case studies will be presented to illustrate proven approaches to effectively drive cultural change and adoption of PLM during Teamcenter implementations. A key Teamcenter strength is the ability to configure the application to an organization’s needs. However, research shows that the majority of PLM implementations fail due to ineffective organizational change management, which includes managing culture change and agreeing on best practices. Motivating employees and moving them up the “adoption curve” is the most important element of any major transformation project. Effective change adoption and sustainment can be achieved through stakeholder alignment, communications, organizational structure and role changes, employee readiness, training program and knowledge transfer.

Title: Defining PLM Business Case to Quickly Gain Executive Support and Approval
Primary Presenter: Vijay Santhanam [Manager - Deloitte Consulting, LLP]
Co-Presenter: Kerry Kreighbaum [Director, Consulting & Systems Integrator Alliances - Siemens PLM Software]
    Date & Time: Jun 04, 2013 01:00 PM
Abstract: Establishing a clear business case and securing the right levels of executive support can help in ensuring a successful PLM implementation. Come learn strategies for developing a solid business case and PLM roadmap. Deloitte will co-present with Siemens our co-developed complete approach for conducting a Teamcenter specific PLM diagnostic and deriving a PLM roadmap. A capability maturity model aligned with the Teamcenter modules is utilized to gauge the maturity of an organization’s PLM processes. Tools such as churn analysis, value-stream mapping, resource usage, improvement metrics, etc., are utilized to measure inefficiencies. A prioritized and sequenced deployment roadmap is then developed to improve PLM capability in performance-critical areas via implementation within Teamcenter. The Teamcenter Value Map is utilized to develop the business case and visually represent how specific Teamcenter modules align with the improvement actions and lead to improved shareholder value.
