Board of Directors: Content Delivery Director
Bill Henninger Lockheed Martin

What makes me or the person I am nominating qualified for this position?

I am qualified for this position based on over 12 years of experience of being the Simulation SIG Chairperson. During that time I have managed the Simulation user group when I-deas was the primary CAD and CAE modeler and up to and including the migration to the new Siemens product - NX. Additionally, I have expanded the user-base to include a wider range of disciplines such as Thermal Analysis in addition to the classic Stress, Loads and Dynamics Analysts. Additionally I know and have worked with multiple Siemens PLM Staff over the years including the analysis, design, and data management Teams.

Why I want to run for this position or see the person I am nominating run for this position.

This position is challenging as well as exciting and is directly in line with personal and corporate research that I have been working over the last several years. This research and exploration deal with the whole product functionality that is offered by Siemens PLM making this a natural extension of that work. Specifically I am interested in the future directions that PLM World takes and how that compliments and aligns with Siemens PLM and the user community. Another aspect that I see at play is how the PLM World Organization can be improved by tightly linking the various user groups similar to the tightly-integrated NX and Teamcenter product suite.

What would plan to accomplish or implement for improvement if elected to this position?

There are many aspects to this position's role, but the most significant in my mind and at this time is the alignment of the user community's needs and how that, in an orchestrated manner, should influence development and maturation of the Siemens PLM product line. To achieve these and other objectives I would like to see more interaction between the various SIGs.

Is there anything else about yourself or the person you are nominating that you would like us to know?

I look forward to the challenges of making significant contributions to the PLM World organization and user community by fulfilling this positions roles and responsibilities.

Richard Meagher The Boeing Company

What makes me or the person I am nominating qualified for this position?

I have been Honorary Board member in charge of Social media for two years and helped PLMWorld get exposure and participation through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I have participated in most of the Face to Face meetings and phone calls to stay abreast of what is happening throughout the year. I also provide quarterly statistics of Social Media and PLMWorld Website using Google Analytics.

Why I want to run for this position or see the person I am nominating run for this position.

I enjoy the experience of working with the Board and helping out at annual conferences. I also enjoy Social Media and blogging and meeting attendees every year.

What would plan to accomplish or implement for improvement if elected to this position?

I wish to continue the progress we have been making with Social Media and the PLMWorld website. One important improvement I would like to see is to enable our partners to participate in our website  with interested and willing members of PLMWorld who either want to know more products and services or give partners another medium for increasing customer base. This could be a potential revenue stream to offset the costs of the website.
I also would like to see more blogging content from members and partners linked to our website - this will help make the PLMWorld website the go to site for all things Siemens PLM.

What makes me or the person I am nominating qualified for this position?

Over the past 8 years I have been part of the Board of Directors for PLM World, serving as the Technical Director and Chairman. As part of this, I have led the organization through very tough economical times, initiated new ideas like roundtables, PLM Masters University, recent changes to the Board of Director positions and additional networking opportunities. Likewise, the alignment of the organization with Siemens PLM executives has strengthened. During this period, technical presentations from the users have also increased, leaving PLM World as the largest provider of a user-run PLM conference.

Why I want to run for this position or see the person I am nominating run for this position.

The landscape of PLM continues on and will be forever changing. In this position I am committed to make necessary changes to better align the conference and year-round activities to meet the needs of the users. A couple of changes include better alignment of technical committees and conference content to the various PLM industries and ensure that additional "process" content gets discussed in the content of the conference. More than just talking tools, I will continue to expand the reach of roundtables and ensure that the best networking opportunities prevail to talk the process!

What would plan to accomplish or implement for improvement if elected to this position?

First and foremost, I will continue to be an advocate for the users. PLM World will continue to be the voice of the user and the only way to do that is to continue to reach out to the users and understand their needs. I will continue to try new ideas and make improvements each year by listening to the users and implementing new ideas based on user feedback. I will also continue to enhance the relationship between the users and Siemens PLM to ensure that the users get the greatest benefit from their investment in Siemens PLM software.

Is there anything else about yourself or the person you are nominating that you would like us to know?

I appreciate the opportunity to serve the PLM community of users. This has been of great benefit to me and hope that I've been able to provide something back in return. I remain committed to the cause of PLM and the many hours necessary to bring the greatest benefit to you, the users. I have good relations with the leaders of several other user groups and will also utilize that established network to benefit our ongoing changes as an organization.

Mark Halbish TI Automotive Mark Halbish.jpg

What makes me or the person I am nominating qualified for this position?

I have been a user of Siemens PLM products for 25 years starting with my first training course on UGII V4 in January 1987. I spent 15 years working with, managing and training people in the use of the Unigraphics / NX CAD system in design, drafting and CAM / NC Programming in NX. Over the past 10 years, I have been heavily involved in Teamcenter with responsibility for business process mapping, configuration, deployment and user training.

I bring a balanced and knowledgeable perspective to the use of Siemens PLM products – as a user, a systems administrator, a solution architect, a programmer, a business analyst and a trainer. This is a unique perspective to understand what it takes to sell the benefits of the technology and solutions to management, implement the solution and drive user adoption to realize the proposed value.

I have experience with User groups as a board member, chair, speaker and a regular attendee at user group conferences. I have attended the PLM World conference over 10 times along with several other PLM, IT and industry conferences.

I have been an active and positive advocate for improving Siemens PLM products. I strive for my teams to work with Siemens technical support and development in a positive spirit as evidenced by the hundreds of IR’s we have submitted to GTAC. A great deal of these have been converted to ER’s and PR’s. We accept that no software is perfect and continuous improvement is an ongoing initiative where it is vital that users provide their feedback and report opportunities for improvement. The user groups have a direct role to play to work with Siemens in improving the user experience and functionality for the entire user community.

Why I want to run for this position or see the person I am nominating run for this position.

I am a strong believer in the concept of user groups. PLM World is a group run by the users and for the users. It is vital that people with experience, passion and leadership are prepared to get involved and elevate their participation.

I feel the time is right for me to give back to this user group. I have gained a lot and taken a lot out of PLM World over the years. While I have presented in the past and will continue to submit my abstracts in the future, I want to do more. I want to help ensure that PLM World has a diverse representation of people on the board who cover a diverse range of industries and who use the broad range of Siemens PLM products.

I feel strongly that PLM World needs to continue to gather the feedback from the users and keep in touch with the challenges faced by their businesses. It is vital that the board members ensure that Siemens PLM receives feedback from the User Community to help drive innovation, robustness and continuous improvement in their software.

What would plan to accomplish or implement for improvement if elected to this position?

I would like to see more opportunities for users to interact with the Users Group. Many users of Siemens PLM products are simply not able to attend the annual conference which is where the regional users groups have a huge role to play.

There are thousands of users out there who could benefit from an active and vibrant RUG in their region. I plan on being actively involved in my local RUG and reaching out to RUG’s across the world to share ideas on how we can reach a wider audience and expose people and companies to opportunities to share, network and learn from each other how Siemens PLM products can and are being used.

Additionally, I will of course be a vocal and active member of the PLM World board to bring passion, energy and fresh ideas to ensure the voice of the user is heard loud and clear.

With that being said, here are four items that I would like to accomplish in my tenure:

1. Increase the number of  active, vibrant communities – It is imperative that we build from the grassroots up and develop strong RUGs to cast a wider net

2. Develop specialized topic communities – With a broad net, we can focus on key topics and build best practices or disseminate knowledge that is beneficial for all through online collaboration. Those topics would be focused on key business drivers such as change management, design automation, product quality, component re-use, cost management etc.

3. Put the “world” in PLM World – In today’s global market, we need to foster global relationships by expanding the reach and vision of PLM World to include the global user base.

4. Improve facilitated collaboration at key events – Provide opportunities for companies and people with similar interests to network and collaborate. I have seen this model implemented at other conferences and have been impressed with the additional value this brings to the event.

Is there anything else about yourself or the person you are nominating that you would like us to know?

In addition to my experience in multiple roles using multiple Siemens PLM products, I have also worked in multiple sectors of the manufacturing industry over the course of my 25 year Automotive career. I have worked at OEM’s, Tier 1 suppliers, contract design houses and toolmakers.

My experience living and working in 5 countries across North America, Europe and Australasia combined with leading a global team and deploying Siemens PLM products across 30 countries has given me a deep appreciation for the complexities of operating in a global environment. Siemens PLM users are present in every corner of the world and we need to look for and embrace every opportunity to connect with them and enable them to participate in our users group, PLM World.

I embrace opportunities to work with others in our industry. I have a strong history of benchmarking, networking and sharing information with my peers in the PLM World. I have hosted and participated in numerous reference visits with companies large and small; existing Siemens PLM Software customers as well as new prospects. The sharing and dialogue always provides new insights for improvement.

If I am graced with the trust of the user base and receive your votes to join the board, I commit to you that I will work hard to ensure we continue to have an effective and energetic PLM World organization.
