Round Table Sessions
Partner Presentations
Title: CSV2TCXML - Migration Beyond Item and Dataset
Primary Presenter: Jamie Griffis [Senior Solution Analyst - Mercury PLM Services]
Date & Time: Jun 06, 2018 04:00 PM

TCXML migration is the supported migration tool from Siemens. In this session, we will discuss the capabilities and limitations to CSV2TCXL for TCXML migrations. Not all migrations are as simple as loading items and datasets. This includes MFK migration strategies and how it is different than non-MFK migrations. Other areas that will be covered are the non-typical workspace object import, which includes administrative LOV’s, company location objects, Weblink objects, and other workspace objects. Finally, we will discuss how to relate reference data and data that was created inside the RAC and not via CSV2TCXML.

Title: Using Multisite Functionality to Share Classification Hierarchy
Primary Presenter: Raghunadh Mandapati [Teamcenter Solutions Engineer - Mercury Marine]
Date & Time: Jun 06, 2018 02:00 PM

Maintaining classification across multiple Teamcenter sites requires a lot of the administrator’s time, although the same changes have to be made across all sites. Teamcenter allows the use of multisite functionality within classification. As a result, one master site can be used to control classification across all sites. Any changes in the master site can be automatically pushed to all sites, thereby reducing the load on administrators. Classification views can be locally created to show relevant attributes to local site users. This also restricts the changes being made at local sites and streamlines the process of maintaining classification.

Title: Teamcenter and Active Workspace Customization Scenarios and Best Practices
Primary Presenter: Rajkumar Sundaram [Digital Solutions Manager - Mercury Digital Services]
Secondary Presenter: Nitesh Thakur [Teamcenter Implementation Engineer - Mercury Marine]
Date & Time: Jun 04, 2018 02:00 PM

Customization scenarios that will be covered include:

  • Generate custom name for similar item types, but each with its own naming logic
  • Apply validations during the release process and other events using a combination of handlers, custom operations and conditions
  • Calculate custom property values based on other properties, and trigger during updates to other properties
  • Dynamically show/hide properties on Active Workspace style sheet
  • Build an Active Workspace report by pulling where-used and referenced objects information, and apply server filtering to the output for faster results
  • Optimize custom Active Workspace report for performance by using standard practices

Title: Project Management Best Practices for Upgrade
Primary Presenter: Andrew Miller [PLM Sales Leader - Mercury Digital Services]
Date & Time: Jun 07, 2018 09:40 AM

There are similar challenges when implementing and upgrading Teamcenter. Each needs hardware to be available and reliable, resources to support the project, licenses to run the software and agreement on the software version. In an upgrade, there are other factors to take into consideration for the project to be successful and minimize business disruption. In this presentation, we will discuss managing the timing of an implementation, stress the importance of the resources needed to properly validate and approve the upgrade, review the software version, assess the risks and stress the importance of validating the data within the upgrade.

Title: Teamcenter Manufacturing and Electronic Work Instructions
Primary Presenter: Raghunadh Mandapati [Teamcenter Solutions Engineer - Mercury Marine]
Secondary Presenter: Harish Thorenoor Rachappa [Teamcenter Solution Engineer - Mercury Marine]
Date & Time: Jun 05, 2018 10:15 AM

EWI offers a web-based solution to view manufacturing work instructions on theshop floor. The EWI solution helps retrieve configured data from Teamcenter, including the sequence of operations and activities, incoming parts and tools used in each operation along with any animations (if available). Because the bill of process (BOP) is authored within Teamcenter, EWI allows the shop floor to receive the latest and more relevant instructions at any ime from anywhere you have internet access on a smart device.

Title: Workflow Status Report Utility
Primary Presenter: Nitesh Thakur [Teamcenter Implementation Engineer - Mercury Marine]
Date & Time: Jun 06, 2018 09:40 AM

Custom workflow status report utility is an External ITK program run from a Teamcenter shell or as a scheduled job. In this session, we will discuss the capabilities and limitations of custom workflow utility. We also will discuss how custom workflow utility is different with OOT Teamcenter reporting functionality. Utility captures accurate reporting of stuck workflows and is highly customizable to capture any task information.
