Siemens PLM Connection 2011 Post Conference Update

Another event has come and gone and now Siemens PLM Connection 2011 has found itself on the new website menu of previous events. Given the struggling economy and a new venue in Las Vegas, attendance numbers this year far exceeded our expectations. The official tally so far was 1938 in attendance. Thanks to you, we have exceeded many expectations at this conference and we are confident that next year will continue to be successful.

The event in Las Vegas was very well received by many who attended. Feedback overall was very positive especially from many new attendees and partners who were overwhelmed with the level of participation, interest and networking made available throughout.

Social Media Update:

An emerging trend among users at this year’s event, thanks to the fast growing popularity of tablets (iPad, Zoom, etc) and smart phones with web browsing capability, is the use of Social Media like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Before and during the event we have seen more than 1000 tweets tracked using #plmconx hashtag as shown in the graph below (data provided with thanks to– Rick Stavanja -

Over 124 twitter users tweeted during the conference using the #plmconx hashtag. The top ten tweeters are shown in the following graph:

I would like to thank all of the tweeters for helping to make Social Media a very busy and growing media event.

Chris Kelley – Siemens PLM employee and an active contributor to the Siemens PLM blog site - provided additional information about other forms of Social Media such as YouTube and Flickr for video and photos taken during the conference and blogs.
